Infoblox to Acquire Kentik to Strengthen AI-Driven Network Observability and Security Operations

Scott Harrell

Infoblox has announced a definitive agreement to acquire Kentik, a prominent network intelligence and observability platform, in a move aimed at accelerating AI-driven network operations and enhancing visibility across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

The acquisition, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions, will combine Infoblox’s expertise in DNS, DHCP, IP address management (DDI), network identity, and security with Kentik’s real-time network observability and traffic intelligence capabilities. Together, the companies aim to create a unified, AI-ready operational data platform that helps enterprises better understand, secure, and optimize increasingly complex digital infrastructures.

As organizations manage growing volumes of cloud workloads, AI applications, connected devices, and distributed services, network visibility has become a business-critical requirement. Infoblox said the integration of Kentik’s analytics and observability platform will provide customers with real-time insights into how network traffic moves, performs, and interacts across cloud, data center, WAN, and internet environments.

“Infoblox sits at a unique intersection. Every device, application and cloud workload on a customer’s network runs through our technology, generating unparalleled context. With Kentik, we expand and enrich that context, providing the real-time hybrid cloud intelligence organizations need to act with confidence.” — Scott Harrell, Chief Executive Officer, Infoblox

The combined platform will offer enterprises a more comprehensive view of network operations by correlating network identity, DNS intelligence, asset visibility, and traffic behavior in a single environment. This will enable IT, networking, and security teams to troubleshoot issues faster, improve operational efficiency, and strengthen cyber resilience.

A key focus of the acquisition is supporting AgenticOps, an emerging AI-driven operational model that relies on high-quality, continuously updated infrastructure data to automate decision-making and optimize performance. Infoblox believes the combined capabilities will provide a stronger data foundation for AI-powered orchestration, security monitoring, and operational automation.

The deal will also enhance security intelligence by combining Infoblox’s DNS-based threat detection capabilities with Kentik’s flow and traffic analytics. This integration is expected to help organizations accelerate threat investigations, improve response accuracy, and reduce remediation times.

“Kentik’s vision has been to help organizations operate increasingly complex networks with intelligence rather than intuition,” said Avi Freedman, CEO of Kentik. “Combining our network intelligence platform with Infoblox’s authoritative infrastructure context creates powerful opportunities to automate operations, accelerate troubleshooting, and strengthen security.”

The acquisition reinforces Infoblox’s strategy of building an infrastructure-centric AI and security platform, enabling enterprises to gain deeper operational intelligence while preparing their networks and data environments for the next generation of AI-powered business operations.
