Optro is expanding into the UAE with a new Dubai regional hub, positioning the country as a strategic base for supporting enterprises and public-sector organizations as they move toward agentic AI and increasingly autonomous operations.
The expansion comes as organizations face a new governance challenge: AI agents are moving beyond assisting employees to executing workflows, invoking APIs and potentially influencing operational decisions. This is increasing pressure on audit, risk, compliance and information security teams to establish continuous oversight.
Optro is positioning its AI-powered GRC Intelligence Platform around this shift, with capabilities designed to support continuous risk assessment, non-human identity and access management, and automated compliance mapping against evolving regulatory requirements.
“Enterprises and public sector organizations across the Middle East are setting a global benchmark for autonomous innovation. However, deploying agentic AI at scale requires a corresponding evolution in control and assurance. By establishing our regional hub in the UAE, we are delivering the localized presence, partner network, and agentic GRC tools required to help organizations govern autonomous operations, protect data sovereignty, and turn regulatory compliance into a competitive advantage.” — Raul Villar Jr., Chief Executive Officer, Optro
The company points to the UAE’s regulatory environment, including CBUAE AI and ML guidance, National AI Policy and Ethics guidelines, the Federal Personal Data Protection Law and cybersecurity standards, as drivers for more connected and real-time approaches to governance and assurance.
The UAE hub will also support Optro’s regional partner ecosystem. EY MENA and Deloitte Middle East have highlighted the growing need to modernize assurance and control environments as organizations adopt AI-enabled operating models.
The expansion follows Optro’s Singapore hub launch earlier this year and its acquisition of Midship, an AI-native autonomous controls testing platform. The company says the acquisition strengthens its ability to deliver governed AI agents for risk, compliance and audit functions.
The broader significance is clear: as enterprises accelerate agentic AI adoption, GRC is shifting from periodic assessment toward continuous assurance. Optro’s UAE expansion targets that emerging requirement by combining localized support, regulatory alignment and AI-driven governance.
