Indigo Telecom Group has announced the appointment of Nick Barton as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), a strategic move aimed at strengthening its global growth and enhancing its position as a key partner for hyperscalers and digital infrastructure providers.
With over 25 years of industry experience, Barton brings a proven track record in driving commercial success across global telecom and connectivity markets. He previously served as Chief Commercial Officer at Aqua Comms and held senior leadership roles at Verizon Business and Colt Technology Services, where he led large-scale enterprise and carrier-focused initiatives.
In his new role at Indigo, Barton will oversee the company’s commercial strategy, focusing on expanding international markets and deepening partnerships across subsea networks, data centres, cloud providers, and fixed and mobile operators. His appointment is expected to align Indigo’s revenue strategy with its unified global operating model, enabling greater operational efficiency and service delivery for hyperscalers, carriers, and subsea cable owners.
“Our goal is to translate deep operational expertise into true hyperscale performance for every customer.”
Michel Robert, CEO at Indigo.
“Indigo has built a strong foundation supporting critical infrastructure players with reliable operational expertise,” said Barton. “The opportunity now is to scale that capability and deliver hyperscale performance globally. I’m excited to be part of this next phase of growth.”
Indigo currently operates in more than 90 countries, offering integrated services including delivery, support, field engineering, and 24/7 service operations under a single framework. This unified approach has increasingly positioned the company as a trusted partner for complex, high-availability infrastructure environments.
Michel Robert, CEO of Indigo, emphasized the strategic importance of the appointment. “Nick’s deep understanding of hyperscaler ecosystems and international connectivity makes him an ideal fit for our growth ambitions. His leadership will be instrumental as we continue to scale and deliver real-time, reliable connectivity solutions worldwide,” he said.
The appointment builds on Indigo’s recent momentum, including its Heads of Terms agreement with Aqua Comms and collaboration with Trans Pacific Networks to support subsea operations across the US and Asia.
