Dar es Salaam presence strengthens local support for telecom operators and governments, with solutions spanning network security, intelligence and trusted digital identity.

Digital infrastructure is becoming central to national development, public services and economic growth across Africa. As governments and telecom operators seek to strengthen network resilience, protect consumers and build trusted digital ecosystems, infrastructure providers are increasingly investing in local capabilities.

Against this backdrop, hayo has expanded its East African footprint with the launch of on-the-ground operations and a new office in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. The move is aimed at bringing its technical expertise and operational capabilities closer to governments, regulators and network operators, while supporting the development and protection of critical digital infrastructure.

The expansion will enable hayo to work with telecom operators on SMS and voice firewalls, network intelligence and APIs. Its government-focused portfolio includes National Mobile Registries (NMR) and solutions designed to strengthen national capabilities, safeguard consumers, improve public services and enhance security.

Vimal Odedra, Chief Product & Marketing Officer at hayo, said local teams are essential when delivering infrastructure that plays a critical role in national and operator environments. He noted that the Tanzania presence would help the company understand local priorities, respond more quickly to customer requirements and maintain accountability for delivery.

For telecom operators, the opportunity extends beyond network protection. By providing greater visibility into network activity and enabling new uses of network capabilities, hayo aims to help operators improve performance and develop additional commercial value.

“Having dedicated teams on the ground is crucial when it comes to digital infrastructure that is critical to a country or an operator.” — Vimal Odedra, Chief Product & Marketing Officer, hayo

Feraz Ahmed, CEO at hayo, said: “Digital infrastructure is becoming increasingly central to national development, public services and economic growth. This is creating new priorities for both public sector stakeholders and network operators. Expanding in Tanzania will help us turn local requirements into infrastructure that delivers stronger outcomes for citizens, networks and the wider economy.”

The Tanzania expansion builds on hayo’s investments in Rwanda and Senegal in the first quarter of 2026, as well as its presence in Botswana, Liberia and Malawi, established in the third quarter of 2025. The company’s broader approach covers strategy and commercial design, deployment, operations and continuous optimisation, combining local expertise with long-term operational ownership.

The move reflects the growing importance of locally managed digital infrastructure as African markets accelerate digital transformation. For governments and operators, the ability to combine network security, trusted identity and actionable intelligence will be central to building resilient services and sustaining confidence in the digital economy.
