Ghassan Aboud Holding Unifies Retail and Food Operations on SAP Cloud in Accelerated 8-Month Rollout

Mohammed

Ghassan Aboud Holding has successfully completed a rapid eight-month deployment of SAP cloud solutions, unifying its retail and food businesses including Grandiose Supermarkets, manufacturing, and catering operations onto a single, integrated digital platform.

The implementation, powered by SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, spans over 50 Grandiose supermarket branches and multiple adjacent business units. Designed to modernize operations and enable real-time decision-making, the platform provides a centralized system that connects point-of-sale data, inventory, finance, and supply chain planning across the organization.

“What this transformation changes for us is how we operate on a daily basis… we now have the ability to see, decide, and act across our businesses in real time,” said Olivier Leblan, Group Chief Digital and Technology Officer at Ghassan Aboud Holding.

The initiative reflects a growing trend in the retail and food sectors, where interconnected business models require seamless coordination between supply chains, production, and customer-facing operations. By integrating these functions into a unified system, Ghassan Aboud Holding aims to improve product availability, reduce inefficiencies, and deliver more consistent customer experiences.

The deployment also incorporates SAP Datasphere, allowing integration of SAP and non-SAP data, alongside SAP Business AI capabilities. These enhancements support advanced demand forecasting, automated business processes, and deeper insights into customer behavior and supply chain dynamics. As a result, the company can make faster, data-driven decisions while improving operational efficiency and profitability.

“With this deployment, Ghassan Aboud Holding has established a more unified platform… enabling real-time visibility and the ability to embed AI into everyday decision-making,” added Marwan Zeineddine, Managing Director, SAP UAE.

A key outcome of the transformation is the establishment of a single source of truth across the organization. This eliminates the need for manual reconciliation between disparate systems, enhances reporting accuracy, and strengthens governance across both front-end retail and back-end production operations.

Delivered by Arete Global, the project stands out for its accelerated timeline, given the complexity of integrating multiple business units and handling high transaction volumes. The successful rollout demonstrates the increasing role of cloud ERP platforms in enabling large enterprises to modernize core systems quickly while maintaining operational continuity.

With this digital foundation, Ghassan Aboud Holding is now better positioned to scale its retail and food ecosystem, support innovation, and adapt to evolving market demands. The integration also lays the groundwork for future adoption of advanced technologies, including agentic AI, to further optimize operations and drive long-term business growth.

“Delivering an implementation of this breadth in such a short timeframe required close collaboration and a clear focus on business outcomes,” said Mohammed Abdul Khadeer, SAP Practice Head at Arete Global UAE.

The initiative reinforces SAP’s role as a key enabler of digital transformation in the region, helping enterprises build connected, intelligent, and resilient business environments.
