Qlik Gains AWS Data Competency for Open Enterprise Data Strategy

Qlik

Qlik has achieved AWS Data Competency in the Relational Database category, strengthening its position as an enterprise data platform provider focused on helping organisations modernise complex data environments without locking them into a single technology stack.

The recognition highlights Qlik’s technical expertise and customer experience in delivering data solutions on Amazon Web Services. In the relational database category, Qlik supports database migration, performance tooling and business applications across Amazon RDS and AWS Aurora environments.

The company’s proposition goes beyond moving databases to the cloud. Qlik can connect data from platforms including AWS RDS, Aurora, SAP HANA, SAP Sybase ASE and IBM Db2, helping enterprises move data into their preferred AWS destinations while preparing it for analytics and AI workloads.

“Data strategies cannot be built around a single platform or a single destination. Our customers need the freedom to work across the technologies they already depend on while modernizing their data foundations for analytics and AI.”

— Matt Hayes, General Manager, Data Business Unit, Qlik

The broader significance is Qlik’s emphasis on an open, platform-agnostic data architecture. Enterprises increasingly operate across cloud, on-premises and SaaS environments, making data integration, quality and governance as important as the underlying database infrastructure.

Qlik’s portfolio brings together integration, transformation, data quality, governance, analytics and AI capabilities, including through Qlik Talend Cloud. The approach is designed to help organisations modernise existing data estates while preserving investments in established systems.

For enterprises, this flexibility can reduce the pressure to redesign their entire data environment around a single cloud or database platform. Instead, organisations can connect existing sources, improve data quality and governance, and progressively build the trusted data foundation required for AI.

Customer feedback from Empresas SB also highlights the practical value of operating across an existing data environment while modernising for AWS.

As AI adoption raises the importance of reliable and accessible enterprise data, Qlik’s AWS recognition reinforces a broader market shift: cloud modernisation is increasingly becoming a data architecture challenge rather than simply an infrastructure migration exercise.
