Axis Communications has joined the Frontier AI Critical Defense Program, a strategic initiative created by Palo Alto Networks to help organizations protect critical infrastructure from AI-driven cyber exploits. As a founding partner, Axis will work with Palo Alto Networks to provide joint customers with network-level protections against AI-accelerated software vulnerabilities.
The growing capabilities of Frontier AI models are accelerating vulnerability discovery and exploitation, increasing pressure on organizations to patch systems quickly. This challenge is particularly significant for critical environments where Axis devices function as sensors and generate metadata essential to real-time operations.

Under the initiative, Axis and Palo Alto Networks will collaborate to develop and deliver high-quality “virtual patches” at the network layer. These protections are designed to provide an additional security layer while organizations test and deploy official software updates, helping reduce exposure without disrupting critical operations.
The partnership is also expected to strengthen Axis’ vulnerability management and remediation practices by providing insights that can contribute to a more resilient product ecosystem.
