Veeam Launches EmpowHer VMCE+ Accelerator to Boost Women’s Participation in Tech

Dave Russell

Veeam Software has announced the second edition of its EmpowHer VMCE+ Accelerator, a 14-week initiative designed to expand opportunities for women in technology through technical training, certification, and career development pathways. The program aims to address the growing demand for skilled talent as organizations accelerate digital transformation and AI adoption.

The cohort-based accelerator will support 50 early- to mid-career women, equipping them with in-demand technical skills and guiding them toward Veeam’s VMCE+ (Veeam Certified Engineer) certification. The initiative focuses on building practical expertise in data resilience and modern IT environments, while also preparing participants for real-world technical roles.

The program combines self-paced learning with structured mentorship and community engagement. Participants will gain hands-on experience with the Veeam Data Platform through Veeam University PRO, alongside guided sessions led by certified professionals from Women in Green, the company’s employee resource group. In addition, participants will have access to a global peer network and may be considered for relevant technical roles at Veeam.

“Programs like EmpowHer VMCE+ are essential to building the next generation of technical talent while expanding access to opportunity.”

— Dave Russell, SVP & Head of Strategy, Veeam

The EmpowHer VMCE+ Accelerator is designed not just to build technical capabilities, but also to enhance career readiness. By offering a clear certification pathway and practical exposure, the program aims to shorten hiring timelines and improve onboarding efficiency for organizations seeking skilled professionals.

Since its launch, the EmpowHer initiative has focused on reducing barriers to entry for women in technology. Alumni of the program have reported significant improvements in technical skills, confidence, and career visibility, highlighting the program’s broader impact beyond certification.

As demand for expertise in areas such as data management, cybersecurity, and AI continues to rise, Veeam sees initiatives like EmpowHer as critical to building a more inclusive and future-ready workforce. The company is also aligning the program with its broader mission of strengthening data and AI trust through education and talent development.

Applications for the accelerator are open until June 19, with the program scheduled to run from early August to late October 2026.
