Cloudflare has announced Cloudflare OS, an open source AI workspace designed to give employees secure, company-aware AI tools that work with internal systems, processes and data from day one.
The platform runs on Cloudflare’s global network and is intended to help organizations adopt AI without building custom infrastructure or spending months on development. Cloudflare said the workspace gives employees browser-based access to AI tools that can conduct research, create documents connected to live data, automate repetitive tasks and build working apps for day-to-day operations.
Cloudflare OS began as the internal platform used by Cloudflare employees across teams. The company said the system connects securely to internal tools, documents and business systems while verifying every user and request before access is granted. Because it is open source and runs in a customer’s own Cloudflare account, organizations retain control of the workflows, context and system connections they build.
“Cloudflare OS is how we run Cloudflare. For AI to truly transform an enterprise, it can’t live in a silo or behind a developer bottleneck. Every employee needs the ability to build, iterate, and automate safely,” said Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO of Cloudflare.
Key features include an agent workspace for employees, no-code app creation and sharing, Zero Trust controls by default, and support for any AI model through Cloudflare AI Gateway. Administrators can monitor spending by person, team or app, set budgets and rate limits, and route routine tasks to lower-cost models when appropriate.Cloudflare OS is available through Cloudflare’s open source repository, with a managed deployment option expected through the Cloudflare dashboard. The company is also working with global implementation partners, including Presidio and Happy Cog, to help enterprises tailor deployments to their technology, governance and compliance needs.
