Veteran leader to drive digital transformation, AI skilling, and cloud innovation across the MEA region.
Microsoft has appointed Naim Yazbeck as President for the Middle East and Africa (MEA), effective July 1, 2025. A seasoned executive with over 25 years in the ICT sector, Yazbeck steps into the role after a transformative tenure as General Manager of Microsoft UAE.
Since joining Microsoft in 2009, Yazbeck has held several leadership positions, most recently leading Microsoft’s UAE operations since 2022. Under his guidance, the company deepened its partnerships with government, enterprise, and startup ecosystems—most notably through a landmark collaboration with G42 to accelerate AI and cloud adoption across the region.
In his new role, Yazbeck will oversee Microsoft’s strategic direction across MEA, focusing on expanding cloud infrastructure, advancing AI skilling at scale, and forging partnerships that align with national visions. His leadership will be instrumental in driving inclusive economic growth and digital resilience across a region poised for rapid transformation.
“It has been an honor to lead Microsoft’s efforts in the UAE—a nation that continues to set the pace for digital ambition,” Yazbeck said. “Looking ahead, we are not just building technology—we are building futures, creating jobs, and enabling inclusive growth across the region.”
Yazbeck’s promotion comes as Microsoft doubles down on its commitment to the MEA region, investing in next-generation technologies and talent development. He will be succeeded in the UAE by Amr Kamel, formerly General Manager – Global Partner Solutions for Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa.
With Yazbeck at the helm, Microsoft MEA is set to play a pivotal role in shaping the region’s digital future.
