WSO2 Launches Agent Manager to Govern and Scale Enterprise AI Agents

WSO2

WSO2 has announced the beta launch of WSO2 Agent Manager, a new open control plane designed to help enterprises securely manage, govern, and scale AI agents across hybrid environments.

The launch comes as organizations rapidly adopt agentic AI systems to improve productivity and automate enterprise workflows. However, many enterprises are struggling with “agent sprawl,” fragmented tooling, inconsistent controls, and rising compliance risks as AI agents operate across multiple frameworks and cloud environments.

WSO2 Agent Manager aims to address these challenges by creating a centralized system of record for enterprise AI agents. The platform enables organizations to identify, monitor, govern, and secure agents while maintaining flexibility to use different AI frameworks and runtimes.

“AI agents introduce a fundamentally new challenge… they are powerful but also difficult to control.” — Rania Khalaf, Chief AI Officer, WSO2

Rania Khalaf, Chief AI Officer at WSO2, said AI agents present a new operational challenge because of their autonomous and probabilistic behavior. She noted that the new platform is designed to make AI agents “identified, governed, accountable entities” that can operate securely at enterprise scale.

The platform offers federated agent management capabilities, allowing enterprises to manage AI agents across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments from a single control plane. It also introduces agent identity and access delegation features to ensure every agent action is authenticated, authorized, and auditable.

“WSO2 Agent Manager brings visibility, governance, and accountability to enterprise AI agents at scale.” — WSO2

Additional capabilities include centralized governance and policy enforcement, end-to-end observability and tracing, secure Kubernetes-native runtime controls, and compatibility with leading frameworks such as LangGraph, CrewAI, and Ballerina.

The platform is built on open standards including OpenTelemetry, OpenAPI, and MCP, and is released under the Apache 2.0 open-source license to help organizations avoid vendor lock-in.

WSO2 also announced that Agent Manager has been named “Best Innovation in Open Source AI” at the AI TechAwards 2026.

The company said the platform will become generally available in June 2026 and will be showcased during WSO2Con North America 2026 in Austin, Texas, later this month.
