Partnership expands the Centre of Excellence framework through cybersecurity training, recovery exercises, data governance and AI-ready security capabilities.

The UAE Cybersecurity Council and Veeam are strengthening their collaboration around national cyber resilience, with a new partnership designed to build cybersecurity skills, improve recovery readiness and support the secure adoption of AI and digital technologies.

The partnership establishes a framework for cooperation covering cybersecurity training, technical exercises, research and development, resilience preparedness and knowledge sharing. It also brings public- and private-sector stakeholders into initiatives focused on improving organisations’ ability to prepare for, respond to and recover from cyber incidents.

A key component is the UAE Cybersecurity Council’s Centre of Excellence framework, which seeks to develop sustainable national cyber capabilities through training, certifications, cyber simulations, readiness exercises, emerging-technology initiatives and public-private partnerships.

“The UAE remains committed to building a secure, resilient and future-ready digital ecosystem. Our partnership with Veeam reflects the importance of trusted public-private collaboration in strengthening national cyber resilience, advancing cyber recovery capabilities and supporting the secure adoption of AI and digital technologies.” — His Excellency Dr Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government

Veeam will contribute training and certification programmes, executive briefings, technical workshops and recovery exercises. The collaboration will also include role-based learning pathways, simulation environments and practitioner enablement programmes, alongside initiatives focused on trusted and governed data practices.

For Veeam, the partnership comes as organisations accelerate cloud adoption, digital transformation and AI initiatives, increasing the importance of recoverable and trusted data.

“The UAE continues to set the standard for cybersecurity leadership and innovation across the region,” said Amin Hanafieh, Regional Director, Middle East & CIS, Veeam. “We are honoured to establish a partnership with the UAE Cybersecurity Council to help strengthen cyber resilience, advance cybersecurity skills development and support organisations in building secure, recoverable and resilient digital environments.”

Mena Migally, Regional Vice President, EMEA East, Veeam, said the growth of AI makes cyber resilience and trusted data foundational to sustainable innovation. “This partnership reflects our long-term commitment to supporting the UAE’s cybersecurity ambitions while helping organisations build the governance, resilience and recovery capabilities required to innovate with confidence,” he said.

The partnership also signals a broader shift in national cybersecurity strategy—from incident response alone toward measurable preparedness, recovery and workforce capability.

As AI and cloud adoption accelerate, the ability to maintain trusted data, recover critical systems and continuously validate resilience is becoming a prerequisite for digital transformation. The UAE-Veeam collaboration aims to embed those capabilities deeper into national cybersecurity development.
