Sophos, a global leader in innovative security solutions for defeating cyberattacks, has announced the appointment of Hussain Salman as Enterprise Services Director for the Gulf Region. In his new role, Salman will lead enterprise services across the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, and Qatar, supporting organisations as they strengthen cyber resilience amid an increasingly complex threat landscape.

The appointment comes at a critical time for the Gulf region, which continues to rank among the world’s most targeted geographies for cyberattacks. Rapid digital transformation, rising state-sponsored activity, and the accelerating use of AI by threat actors have elevated cybersecurity from an IT priority to a strategic business imperative. Reflecting this urgency, the regional cybersecurity market is projected to nearly double from USD 20.55 billion in 2025 to USD 40.97 billion by 2030, driving strong demand for deep local expertise and enterprise-scale security services.

“Strong cybersecurity today is about resilience, intelligence, and partnership not just technology.”

— Harish Chib, Vice President, Emerging Markets, Sophos

Hussain Salman brings decades of experience across IT services, cybersecurity, and digital transformation, with a strong track record in the Gulf market. He previously spent multiple years at Dell Technologies, before moving on to Secureworks where he led cybersecurity business development and helped major organisations adopt practical, outcome-driven security strategies tailored to complex enterprise environments.

In his new role at Sophos, Salman will lead enterprise services delivery across the region, working closely with customers to secure hybrid and multi-cloud environments. Leveraging Sophos’ AI-driven cybersecurity platform, along with 24/7 threat monitoring, prevention, detection, and response capabilities, he will support organisations in advancing their digital transformation initiatives with greater confidence and reduced risk.

“Cybersecurity in the Middle East has entered a new strategic era,” said Harish Chib, Vice President, Emerging Markets at Sophos. “Enterprises must move beyond reactive defence to proactive, intelligence-led security aligned with business outcomes. Hussain brings exactly this level of experience, having advised some of the region’s most complex organisations. His appointment underscores our commitment to the Gulf and to acting as a trusted, long-term partner for our customers.”

Commenting on his appointment, Hussain Salman said the pace of change in the threat landscape demands a different approach. “With AI accelerating the scale and sophistication of attacks, organisations need more than tools they need a partner who understands their business and risk environment. I’m excited to work closely with our customers to build proactive, resilient security strategies that not only protect operations but also enable growth in an increasingly digital world.”

As Sophos continues to invest in the Gulf region, the company remains focused on delivering the expertise, intelligence, and services enterprises need to stay ahead of evolving cyber threats.
