Snowflake Expands Intelligence and Cortex Code to Power the Agentic Enterprise

Snowflake

Snowflake has announced major enhancements to its Snowflake Intelligence and Cortex Code offerings, strengthening its position as a control plane for the emerging agentic enterprise. The updates are designed to help organizations seamlessly connect data, enterprise systems, and AI models enabling AI agents to move beyond insights to real action.

At the center of this evolution is Snowflake Intelligence, now positioned as a personal work agent for business users. The platform adapts to user preferences and workflows, enabling automated task execution, deeper insights, and more contextual decision-making grounded in governed enterprise data.

New capabilities include “Skills,” which allow users to describe workflows in natural language and automate multi-step tasks, as well as Model Context Protocol (MCP) connectors that integrate directly with enterprise tools such as Gmail, Google Docs, Jira, Salesforce, and Slack. A mobile app, currently in preview, extends these capabilities for on-the-go access, while “Artifacts” enable teams to save and reuse workflows and insights across the organization.

“AI is changing how every company operates, and the platforms that win will make it easy to put AI into practice with the right data and guardrails.”

— Baris Gultekin, VP of AI, Snowflake

Complementing this, Cortex Code continues to expand as Snowflake’s enterprise AI development layer. The platform enables developers to build, orchestrate, and operationalize AI applications directly within existing environments, with support for external systems such as AWS Glue, Databricks, and Postgres.

Cortex Code also integrates with broader AI ecosystems through protocols such as MCP and the Agent Communication Protocol (ACP), while new integrations with tools like VS Code and Claude Code allow developers to work within their preferred environments without disruption.

Together, these updates centralize how enterprises govern, connect, and operationalize data, models, and workflows creating a unified foundation for AI-driven operations.

As organizations transition toward agentic AI, Snowflake is positioning its platform as the backbone that enables scalable, secure, and actionable intelligence across the enterprise.
