Nozomi Networks Enables Transportation Companies Secure OT and IoT Architectures at Middle East Rail 2022

Bachir

Nozomi Networks announced its participation at the upcoming 16th annual Middle East Rail, the regional rail show for innovation, technology and strategy. The event will be held from May 17-18 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, UAE. At the exhibition, the company will demonstrate the breadth of its portfolio comprising leading OT and IoT security solutions and how its technologies can secure modern transportation.

On the first day of the event Bachir Moussa, Regional Director MEAR from Nozomi Networks sharing unique perspectives into OT/IoT Systems and their challenges within the transportation industry at Middle East Rail Keynote Theatre.

Cybercriminals can create immediate havoc by targeting OT networks and IT devices used for critical transportation infrastructure. Global companies like Maersk, Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Matson have all experienced catastrophic attacks in the recent past. Transportation and logistics companies are highly targeted by cyber adversaries as they have more business revenues and reputation at stake. According to Gartner, by 2025, cyber attackers will have weaponized operational technology (OT) environments to successfully harm or kill humans.

Bachir Moussa, Regional Director MEAR at Nozomi Networks, said, “Threats to the OT/IT environment are at the peak. It is now more critical than ever to put in place nimble security controls in your cybersecurity architecture, especially in the transportation industry. Today, everything is reliant on technology and increasingly tech leaders in the transportation industry are making OT/IT security a top priority. From recent incidents, we know perpetrators will do whatever it takes to cause irrevocable harm to transportation organizations. At Middle East Rail, we will showcase our key offerings, spread awareness and educate attendees on current trends, important security controls for their OT/IT environments and how to efficiently respond to incidents. It is a great platform for industry stakeholders to gather and share best practices and learn new developments.”

Nozomi Networks will present its scalable, cloud-based SaaS solution Vantage and other key solutions from its portfolio at Middle East Rail. Critical infrastructure defenses are maturing significantly – thanks in part to progress when it comes to public and private cooperative efforts aimed at tightening defenses – and Nozomi Networks has made a significant contribution to this awareness with innovative security solutions. Additionally, government guidelines, mandates, and legislation in combination with self-governance at the sector level will help establish and enforce a standard baseline for critical infrastructure cybersecurity.

During the two-day transportation-focused cybersecurity conference, the Nozomi Networks team will be available at stand F68 in Hall 1. Senior executives and cybersecurity experts from the company will be available at the show to interact with visitors and have strategic discussions on OT cybersecurity in transportation.
