As Oman accelerates AI adoption, F5 highlights visibility, governance and policy control as critical to scaling enterprise AI securely
F5 is putting enterprise AI security in focus as organizations in Oman accelerate their adoption of artificial intelligence and cloud technologies. At two customer engagements in Muscat, the company highlighted how growing AI autonomy, unauthorized employee usage and expanding API connections are creating new security and governance challenges for enterprises.
The F5 Academy Oman provided customer training on F5 technologies, while the F5 Technology Showcase with Otech brought together customers and partners to examine cybersecurity and application delivery requirements in an increasingly AI-driven environment.
The discussions come against a backdrop of growing operational risk. According to F5’s 2026 State of Application Strategy Report, 88% of organizations reported at least one AI-related operational or security challenge. For enterprises, the challenge is increasingly moving beyond securing individual AI models to understanding the wider ecosystem of applications, agents, APIs and employee interactions surrounding them.

From AI visibility to workforce governance
F5 used the events to showcase its AI Security Platform, designed to provide continuous visibility, governance and protection across enterprise AI applications, models, agents and the APIs connecting them.
The platform extends F5’s Application Delivery and Security Platform strategy into enterprise AI through a continuous approach to discovering, testing, governing and protecting AI workloads.

A key development is the enhanced F5 AI Gateway, which enforces policies across AI requests and provides a unified control point for how models, agents and tools are accessed and used. F5 also highlighted the upcoming availability of Workforce AI Security, an agentless capability designed to provide visibility and policy control over employee AI activity, including actions performed by agents on users’ behalf.
This focus addresses the growing problem of “shadow AI,” where employees adopt unauthorized AI tools or integrations outside established security controls. As AI becomes embedded across business workflows, such activity can expand the attack surface while making governance more difficult.
For Oman, where AI adoption is being driven alongside broader digital transformation ambitions under Oman Vision 2040, the security question is increasingly about how quickly organizations can scale AI while maintaining control over the technology, data and identities involved.
F5’s message from the Muscat engagements is clear: AI adoption and AI security need to evolve together, with visibility and governance becoming foundational requirements for enterprise-scale deployment.
