Everpure Expands Portworx Integration with OpenShift to Simplify Kubernetes Data Management

Greg

Everpure has announced new capabilities for Portworx by Everpure designed to provide a more native Kubernetes experience for users of Red Hat OpenShift. The latest enhancements aim to simplify how enterprises manage storage, data protection, and disaster recovery for AI workloads, containers, and virtual machines (VMs) directly from the OpenShift console.

The announcement reflects the growing demand among enterprises for unified infrastructure platforms capable of supporting modern AI-driven applications alongside traditional workloads. Organizations are increasingly modernizing their data architectures to meet the performance, automation, and compliance requirements of hybrid cloud, edge, and on-premises environments.

According to Greg Muscarella, enterprises are looking to avoid operational complexity as they scale AI and edge initiatives while continuing to support existing applications. He noted that the integration between Portworx and Red Hat OpenShift enables customers to manage storage and disaster recovery capabilities from a single interface, reducing the need for separate management platforms for containers and VMs.

“Portworx and Red Hat simplify this challenge by enabling enterprises to manage Portworx storage and disaster recovery capabilities from within the OpenShift UI. Together, Red Hat and Everpure deliver a single, powerful platform for all their workloads at scale.” — Greg Muscarella

Steve Gordon said Red Hat OpenShift continues to play a key role in enterprise transformation by providing a consistent hybrid application platform across environments. He added that integrating Portworx’s storage, protection, and disaster recovery capabilities directly into the OpenShift console delivers a unified operational experience for customers modernizing infrastructure and deploying AI workloads at scale.

Among the new offerings is Portworx Plugin 2.2 for Red Hat OpenShift, which brings storage and data management functions directly into the OpenShift console. The integration also supports Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management, enabling centralized orchestration of disaster recovery for containers and VMs across multiple sites.

Everpure also introduced Portworx for Edge, aimed at helping organizations modernize edge infrastructure more cost-effectively. Supported on Red Hat OpenShift at the Edge, the solution provides automated data protection and encryption for smaller Kubernetes clusters while helping enterprises maintain data sovereignty and compliance requirements.

The new capabilities, including Portworx Enterprise 3.6, Portworx Plugin 2.2 for Red Hat OpenShift, and Portworx Backup 2.11, are now available.
