Expansion supports region’s digital compliance transformation across safety and sustainability domains

EcoOnline, a global leader in EHS and sustainability software, has announced its official entry into the Middle East market, appointing Nicholas Matta as Regional Director to spearhead growth and customer engagement across the region. The move reflects a strategic response to the region’s accelerating digital transformation and increasing demand for integrated, compliance-driven platforms.

Matta, a seasoned safety and ESG leader, brings extensive experience across the Middle East in implementing technology-led risk and compliance solutions. Formerly in a senior role at Enablon, he is widely recognised for aligning digital platforms with regional regulatory frameworks and enterprise safety priorities. At EcoOnline, he will lead customer adoption, partner strategy, and go-to-market initiatives for the Middle East, while also managing operations in the Benelux region.

“There is a clear opportunity to close market gaps in areas like lone worker protection and chemical safety—challenges that are too often overlooked despite their risk.”

“EcoOnline’s entry into the Middle East is well-timed,” said Gareth Palmer, SVP Channel & Alliances at EcoOnline. “With national transformation agendas like Vision 2030 and mega-projects such as NEOM scaling up rapidly, CIOs are seeking unified platforms that simplify compliance, protect their workforce, and drive ESG reporting.”

EcoOnline is already building regional momentum through partnerships with global firms including DSS+VPWhite, and WSP. Its SaaS-based suite delivers end-to-end tools for chemical safety, incident management, ESG tracking, and risk mitigation—key priorities for digital-first organisations operating in construction, energy, and manufacturing.

This expansion complements EcoOnline’s established presence in Europe, North America, ANZ, and South Africa, and positions the company as a key technology enabler for the region’s safety and sustainability transformation.
