Qualys has introduced InstaScan, a new capability within its Enterprise TruRisk Management (ETM) platform designed to help organizations detect newly disclosed vulnerabilities within minutes rather than waiting for traditional scanning cycles.
The announcement comes as the cybersecurity landscape faces unprecedented pressure from the rapid growth in vulnerabilities and faster attack timelines. According to Qualys, more than 46,000 Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) were published in the first seven months of 2026 alone, nearly matching the total published across all of 2025. At the same time, vulnerability exploitation has become the leading initial access vector for cyberattacks, while AI is helping threat actors accelerate their operations.
InstaScan introduces what Qualys calls “scanless scanning.” Powered by Agent Insta, an AI-driven cyber risk agent, the technology continuously monitors newly published security advisories and threat intelligence, correlating them with an organization’s existing asset inventory, telemetry, and exposure data. This enables security teams to identify affected systems within minutes of a vulnerability disclosure without waiting for scheduled scans.
The company says the solution can detect up to 90% of vulnerabilities within its supported technologies almost immediately after disclosure, helping organizations narrow the window between vulnerability publication and remediation.
“The speed of vulnerability exploitation has fundamentally changed. A slow vulnerability management program is now the biggest vulnerability an organization has. We’re entering a new era where detection is continuous, driven by live intelligence instead of scan cycles,” said Sumedh Thakar, President and CEO, Qualys.
“The industry’s detection clock broke in 2025. Waiting for the next scan window is no longer a delay; it is lost response time,” Qualys noted.
The launch reflects a broader shift in vulnerability management from periodic scanning toward continuous risk visibility. By integrating live threat intelligence with existing asset and exposure data, InstaScan aims to help organizations prioritize threats faster and automate response workflows.
Now available within Qualys ETM, the new capability is designed to support security teams facing rising vulnerability volumes, AI-accelerated threats, and increasing pressure to reduce risk before attackers can exploit newly discovered weaknesses.
