Enhanced Azure coverage helps organizations accelerate recovery of cloud-native applications, infrastructure and configurations following cyberattacks and outages
Commvault has announced new enhancements to Cloud Rewind, expanding Microsoft Azure resource coverage for configuration protection and recovery to help organizations recover cloud-native and AI-powered applications more quickly and effectively following cyber incidents or operational disruptions.
The announcement comes as cyber threats continue to intensify across the UAE. According to industry data cited by Commvault, organizations are facing an increasing volume of cyberattacks while the time between vulnerability disclosure and active exploitation continues to shrink. The growing use of AI by attackers is also amplifying risks, increasing the need for faster and more comprehensive recovery capabilities.
“Across the UAE, organizations are no longer asking whether they will face an attack, but how quickly they can recover when one lands. Modern applications are only as resilient as the cloud infrastructure beneath them,” said Fady Richmany, Corporate Vice President and General Manager, Emerging Markets at Commvault.
Cloud Rewind is designed to simplify cloud recovery by continuously discovering cloud resources, mapping application dependencies and orchestrating the restoration of cloud applications together with the infrastructure, configurations and services required to keep them running. With the latest update, Azure protection has been expanded threefold, covering 62% of enterprise-relevant Azure resource types.
The platform also enables organizations to test recovery readiness through application recovery simulations, including within isolated and air-gapped environments, before an incident occurs.
Additional enhancements include deeper integration with Commvault backup and recovery services through unified Protection Groups, allowing organizations to manage application data and cloud configuration recovery from a single interface. New policy-based protection capabilities also automate the enrollment and protection of cloud resources across multiple environments.
According to Commvault, the enhancements are aimed at helping enterprises improve cyber resilience, reduce downtime and recover complete business operations faster. Cloud Rewind is available today as an add-on workload within Commvault Cloud, with expanded Azure protection expected to become available in the coming months.
