The MEF 3.0 SD-WAN certification demonstrates CMC Networks’ commitment to delivering digital transformation across the most challenging markets in the world.

CMC Networks, a global Tier 1 service provider, has achieved MEF 3.0 certification for its software-defined wide-area networking (SD-WAN) services. Its enterprise and service provider customers across Africa and around the world benefit from highly scalable and resilient networking across the company’s global footprint. The certification demonstrates the company’s conformance to the rigorous specifications established by MEF, the industry’s defining authority.

CMC Networks combines network reach across six continents with innovation in artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, cybersecurity, EDGE, software-defined networking (SDN), network functions virtualisation (NFV), and a range of services to solve local enterprise challenges with world-class solutions. CMC Networks is the first and only service provider in Africa that is both MEF 3.0 SD-WAN and Carrier Ethernet certified, which is a testament to the company’s innovation in Africa and beyond for more than three decades.

“We’re continually innovating in Africa and enabling enterprises and end users to benefit from world-leading technologies and digital transformation, no matter where they operate,” said Marisa Trisolino, CEO at CMC Networks. “Our MEF 3.0 certification really indicates our commitment to delivering best-in-class SD-WAN services for our customers. If we can deliver cutting-edge solutions in the most challenging markets in the world, we can deliver for enterprises across the globe.”

CMC Networks’ Rapid Adaptive Network (C-RAN) Flex-Edge solution combines SD-WAN, SDN, NFV and network security in a single solution, with no physical presence required in-country. The company also recently partnered with BCX to provide SD-WAN network connectivity between South Africa, Africa, and the rest of the world, extending BCX’s footprint with more than 110 service locations for enterprise customers.

“Congratulations to CMC Networks on its latest MEF 3.0 SD-WAN certification,” said Nan Chen, president of MEF. “Companies who purchase from a certified MEF 3.0 service provider can have confidence they will receive services that conform to MEF’s industry-leading global standards. Companies like CMC Networks understand the value that certification provides—simplified, pre-validated functionality for buyers and simplified, frictionless implementation and partnering.”

“CMC Networks is an active and valued participant in the vibrant MEF global member community and has taken a much-appreciated leadership role in raising MEF awareness throughout Africa,” said Kevin Vachon, COO of MEF. “MEF would like to congratulate CMC Networks on its latest MEF 3.0 SD-WAN certification.

MEF 3.0 certifications offer a method for industry organisations to confirm compliance with industry-led MEF 3.0 standards for services, and the technology used to enable those services, thereby accelerating product development, sales cycles, and service implementations. CMC Networks’ MEF 3.0-certified SD-WAN is enabling enterprises to deliver a consistent and optimised user experience across local markets around the world.
