AI-powered platform recognised for proactively completing government transactions, helping users avoid AED 17 million in late fees and improving digital service delivery.
Abu Dhabi’s TAMM platform has been named the best government initiative in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) at the 2026 Gartner Eye on Innovation Awards, highlighting the emirate’s efforts to use artificial intelligence to transform public service delivery.
Developed by the Department of Government Enablement – Abu Dhabi (DGE) in collaboration with more than 45 government entities, TAMM brings together over 1,200 public and private services. The platform has 4.7 million users and autonomously resolves 96% of service requests, supporting Abu Dhabi’s ambition to become the world’s first AI-native government by 2027.
The award-winning TAMM AutoGov feature uses agentic AI to complete tasks proactively on behalf of users, moving beyond conventional digital services that require individuals to initiate every transaction. Launched in October 2025 as what TAMM described as the world’s first AI public servant, the feature can handle recurring services and make payments on users’ behalf, including traffic fines.
“A government service that works well is one that reaches people before they have to ask for it – before the deadline, before the disruption.” — Dr Mohamed Al Askar, Director General of TAMM
Six months after its launch, TAMM AutoGov had helped users avoid more than AED 17 million in late fees, achieved a customer satisfaction score of 94.8% and recorded 40% quarter-on-quarter growth in transaction volumes.
Dr Mohamed Al Askar, Director General of TAMM, said the initiative enables government services to reach people before deadlines or disruptions arise, reflecting Abu Dhabi’s ambition to deliver services faster and more seamlessly through AI.
The platform shifts recurring services from a request-driven to an event-driven model. For example, it can initiate trade licence renewals before expiry or renew disability cards before they lapse, reducing the need for users to manage routine administrative processes themselves.
The recognition also reflects TAMM’s wider digital reach. With a reported digital adoption rate of 98%, the platform helps users avoid more than 37 million visits to government service centres annually, returning approximately 54 million hours to the public.
The Gartner Eye on Innovation Awards for Government recognise initiatives that use emerging technologies to advance digital government and deliver measurable public value. The 2026 awards attracted a record number of submissions, with regional winners selected through a process involving Gartner analysts and senior government representatives.
TAMM was previously named the world’s best e-government project at the 2025 World Summit on the Information Society Prizes, backed by the United Nations.
