Deloitte Middle East is showcasing its vision for AI-native government, with a focus on agentic AI, workforce readiness and responsible technology adoption as governments across the region explore new models for public service delivery.
The company is highlighting how agentic AI can support government processes while keeping human judgement, trust and accountability at the centre. Deloitte recently worked with Abu Dhabi’s Department of Government Enablement to demonstrate agentic AI solutions designed around government requirements.
“AI is already changing how organizations operate and how people work, but technology alone will not determine its impact. The organizations that get this right will be those that give equal attention to their people, ensuring they have the skills and confidence to work effectively alongside AI.” — Yousef Barkawie, Board Member and Partner, Growth Platforms & AI Strategic Growth Offering Leader, Deloitte Middle East
The urgency is reflected in Deloitte’s 2026 State of AI in the Enterprise report, which found that 34% of organisations in the Middle East are using AI to deeply transform products, services, core processes or business models. At the same time, 61% are implementing upskilling and reskilling strategies to prepare their workforce for AI.
Deloitte’s approach suggests that AI-native government will require more than deploying autonomous systems. Governments will need to identify practical use cases, build workforce confidence and establish safeguards around how AI decisions influence public services.
“AI is creating new opportunities for governments to improve how services are designed and delivered. The priority is to apply the technology where it can make a meaningful impact, while ensuring that human judgment, trust, and accountability remain central to how governments serve their communities.” — Shargil Ahmad, Partner and Government & Public Services Industry Leader, Deloitte Middle East
As part of its participation, Costi Perricos, Partner and Global Generative AI Leader at Deloitte, is leading an interactive workshop around Deloitte’s Agentic Blueprint, demonstrating how AI-powered applications can be developed and tested against public-sector challenges.
The sessions reinforce a broader message: the next phase of government AI adoption will be measured not simply by automation, but by whether technology delivers meaningful outcomes while maintaining public trust and keeping people at the centre.
