New Center of Excellence to strengthen cyber recovery capabilities, AI resilience, and cybersecurity talent development across the UAE
Commvault has announced a new collaboration with the UAE Cyber Security Council (CSC) to establish a dedicated Innovation Center of Excellence (CoE) in Abu Dhabi, aimed at advancing national cyber resilience, accelerating cybersecurity innovation, and strengthening digital infrastructure protection across the country.
The initiative was unveiled during Commvault’s SHIFT Dubai roadshow at the Museum of the Future and represents a significant step in supporting the UAE’s vision for secure digital transformation. The Center of Excellence will serve as a regional hub for cyber resilience research, executive engagement, technology demonstrations, and hands-on training focused on real-world cyberattack and recovery scenarios.
A key component of the collaboration is the planned deployment of a regional Readiverse environment featuring Commvault’s flagship simulations, Minutes to Meltdown and Minutes to Recovery. These immersive cyber resilience exercises will allow government agencies, enterprises, and critical infrastructure operators to experience live cyberattacks, compromised backups, and recovery operations in realistic production-like environments. The initiative is designed to help organizations improve preparedness against increasingly sophisticated AI-driven cyber threats.
“Cyber resilience is a national imperative, and it requires more than the ability to defend; it requires the capacity to recover.” – H.E. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government
The CoE will also play a major role in workforce development. Commvault and the UAE Cyber Security Council will introduce a self-paced e-learning and certification program for university students, helping build a pipeline of skilled cyber resilience professionals. Participants will have the opportunity to earn the Commvault Practitioner Certification, gaining exposure to enterprise-grade data protection, cloud technologies, and cyber recovery practices.
“Cyber resilience is a national imperative, and it requires more than the ability to defend; it requires the capacity to recover,” said H.E. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cybersecurity for the UAE Government.
Fady Richmany, Corporate Vice President, Emerging Markets – CEE, CIS, and META at Commvault, said the collaboration combines Commvault’s cyber resilience expertise with the UAE Cyber Security Council’s strategic leadership to strengthen organizational resilience and reinforce the UAE’s position as a global leader in cybersecurity innovation and trusted digital infrastructure.
The initiative further highlights the UAE’s commitment to building a resilient digital economy while enhancing national readiness against evolving cyber threats.
