Neo4j Acquires GraphAware to Deliver Open, AI-Powered Intelligence Analysis Platform

Neo4j

Neo4j has announced its acquisition of GraphAware, a specialist in intelligence analysis software for government agencies. The strategic move aims to deliver an AI-powered, open-standards intelligence analysis platform, positioning itself as a sovereign alternative to proprietary systems such as Palantir Gotham.

The acquisition aligns with Neo4j’s $100 million AI investment strategy and is designed to accelerate the development of autonomous, context-aware intelligence systems. By integrating GraphAware’s Hume platform into its ecosystem, Neo4j intends to help organizations transform siloed data into connected, explainable, and actionable intelligence.

“For over a decade, governments have utilized intelligence analysis software from Palantir. Now they will have a legitimate choice with GraphAware Hume, powered by the Neo4j graph intelligence platform,” said Emil Eifrem, Founder and CEO, Neo4j.

With rising geopolitical tensions and increasing demand for data sovereignty, governments and enterprises are seeking solutions that provide control over their data, deployment, and compliance. Neo4j’s open-standards approach addresses these needs by offering modular, transparent architecture that integrates seamlessly with enterprise AI environments eliminating reliance on closed, black-box systems.

GraphAware Hume, now part of Neo4j’s offering, is a graph-powered intelligence analysis platform designed for mission-critical environments. It enables analysts to explore relationships across complex datasets, build contextual insights, and collaborate on investigations more effectively. The platform is already used by leading global organizations, including law enforcement agencies, defense institutions, and cyber defense teams.

Real-world deployments highlight its capabilities. The Western Australia Police Force has leveraged the solution to streamline investigations, reducing analysis time from hours to seconds. Similarly, the U.S. Department of Defense uses Neo4j and GraphAware technology for mission-critical AI-driven analytics, while a European cyber defense agency relies on it to detect threats to national infrastructure.

“The future of intelligence analysis is undeniably graph-powered and AI-assisted… By joining forces, we will drive tighter integration and faster innovation, delivering game-changing AI capabilities,” added Michal Bachman, Founder and CEO of GraphAware.

The acquisition strengthens Neo4j’s position in the rapidly growing graph intelligence market, where demand for AI-ready data solutions is surging. The company reports a fourfold increase in customers addressing AI use cases, many already in production environments.

By combining GraphAware’s domain expertise with Neo4j’s graph technology, the unified platform will deliver enhanced intelligence capabilities, improved data transparency, and greater operational flexibility. Organizations will benefit from full control over their data and systems, enabling them to deploy secure, scalable, and future-ready intelligence solutions.

This move marks a significant milestone in the evolution of intelligence analysis, signaling a shift toward open, AI-driven platforms that prioritize sovereignty, explainability, and interoperability in an increasingly complex digital landscape.
