ZOI Partners with Linxa to Modernise Global Wholesale Telecom Operations

Zain Omantel International

Five-year agreement will consolidate legacy systems into a unified platform, automating voice, messaging and IPX operations while improving traffic management and commercial efficiency.

Zain Omantel International (ZOI), the international wholesale joint venture of Zain Group and Omantel, has partnered with telecom software provider Linxa to modernise its global wholesale operations through an integrated platform covering international voice, messaging and IPX services.

Under a five-year agreement following a competitive tender process, ZOI will replace multiple legacy operational and business support systems (OSS/BSS) with Linxa Connect. The platform brings together rating, pricing, routing, billing and reporting, giving the operator a consolidated environment to manage its international wholesale business.

The deployment is designed to automate processes, optimise traffic routing based on cost and quality, and accelerate commercial decision-making. Additional capabilities include automated rate management, traffic monitoring, financial reconciliation and support for bilateral agreements. By reducing manual intervention and improving coordination between commercial and operational teams, the platform is expected to strengthen operational visibility and control.

“Our customers expect competitive services, consistent quality, and the ability to respond quickly as market conditions change. Working with Linxa will enable us to simplify how we operate, empower our teams to make better decisions, and deliver greater value to our customers and partners worldwide.”

For ZOI, the partnership comes as international wholesale operators face growing pressure to improve service quality, manage costs and respond faster to changing traffic patterns and market conditions.

“Our customers expect competitive services, consistent quality, and the ability to respond quickly as market conditions change,” said Sohail Qadir, Chief Executive Officer of Zain Omantel International. He said the collaboration would simplify operations, support better decision-making and enable the company to deliver greater value to customers and partners.

Linxa brings experience supporting Tier 1 carriers and international wholesale operators, with customers including T-Wholesale, Vodafone Turkey, A1, PCCW Global, Sinch, Sky and Telstra. Its platform combines commercial, operational and financial workflows for managing high-volume voice and messaging traffic.

Simon Dodsworth, Chief Executive Officer, Linxa, described the agreement as a significant milestone for the company, highlighting the Middle East’s importance as a wholesale telecommunications market. He said the partnership would support ZOI’s digital transformation and long-term operational efficiency.

Kunal Dave, Chief Revenue Officer, Linxa, added that the project would build on ZOI’s existing capabilities while creating a stronger foundation for growth.

ZOI’s Carrier and Mobility business handles more than 10 billion international voice minutes and supports roaming services across 200 countries. Its portfolio includes bilateral and transit voice, international toll-free services, mobile number portability lookup, messaging hubs and firewalls, international roaming, signalling hubs and IPX/GRX exchange services.

The partnership signals a broader shift towards integrated, automated wholesale platforms as international carriers seek to scale operations while maintaining service quality and commercial competitiveness.
