Trellix Strengthens Leadership Team to Drive Cyber Resilience Growth

David Pieterse

Trellix, a global leader in intelligence-led cyber resilience, has expanded its executive leadership team with the appointment of David Pieterse as Chief Operating Officer, Go-To-Market (COO-GTM) and David Soto as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). The strategic hires are aimed at accelerating the company’s growth, strengthening customer engagement, and enhancing enterprise security capabilities amid an increasingly complex cyber threat landscape.

Pieterse joins Trellix with more than two decades of experience in cybersecurity, enterprise software, and data analytics. In his new role, he will lead go-to-market operations, strengthen strategic partnerships, and drive execution across Trellix’s growth initiatives. Most recently, he served as Chief Revenue Officer at threat intelligence company Recorded Future, where he led global revenue operations through the company’s acquisition by Mastercard. He has also held senior leadership positions at Snow Software and Kong.

“The cybersecurity market is at a genuine inflection point, and Trellix has the security foundation, threat intelligence, and team needed to lead it. My focus will be on building the strategic relationships and execution mechanisms that translate security innovations into measurable outcomes for customers and partners.”

Trellix CEO Vishal Rao said Pieterse’s extensive experience will help the company capitalize on the growing demand for AI-native cybersecurity solutions at a time when threat actors are increasingly leveraging artificial intelligence to launch more sophisticated attacks.

Meanwhile, David Soto has been appointed Chief Information Security Officer and will oversee Trellix’s enterprise security strategy, shared resilience initiatives, and Customer Zero program, which demonstrates the company’s security technologies within its own operational environment. Soto brings more than 25 years of cybersecurity leadership experience and previously served as Head of Infrastructure Security at Amazon, where he managed security programs across more than 4,000 sites in 30 countries.

His experience also includes leadership roles at Check Point, Optiv, and Pacific Life, establishing him as a respected voice in cybersecurity resilience and risk management.

The appointments come as organizations worldwide face increasingly advanced, machine-speed cyber threats. Trellix said the strengthened leadership team will help enhance its intelligence-led cyber resilience strategy, combining AI-powered security, operational threat intelligence, and automated detection and response capabilities to help enterprises protect critical assets, maintain business continuity, and stay ahead of evolving cyber risks.
