ManageEngine Enhances OpManager Nexus with Real-Time Network Observability

Native support for gNMI and OpenConfig enables high-fidelity streaming telemetry, vendor-neutral visibility, and unified network intelligence

ManageEngine, the enterprise IT management division of Zoho Corporation, has announced the addition of native support for gNMI and OpenConfig streaming telemetry in OpManager Nexus, its full-stack observability platform. The new capabilities are designed to provide enterprises with real-time network visibility, enabling IT and network operations teams to detect and respond to issues before they impact business services.

The enhancement addresses the growing limitations of traditional SNMP-based network monitoring, which often relies on periodic polling intervals and can miss short-lived events such as network congestion spikes, routing fluctuations, and performance anomalies. By leveraging streaming telemetry through gNMI and OpenConfig, OpManager Nexus delivers continuous, push-based data collection directly from network infrastructure without requiring additional agents or third-party collectors.

According to ManageEngine, the new functionality offers vendor-neutral support across leading network equipment providers, including Cisco, Juniper Networks, Arista, Nokia, and Huawei. The platform normalizes telemetry data across multi-vendor environments, allowing organizations to monitor and manage network performance through a single interface.

“gNMI and OpenConfig are increasingly becoming the preferred way to expose network data because they provide deeper visibility while placing less strain on network devices. With native integration in OpManager Nexus, customers can operationalize streaming telemetry within the platform they already trust, without adding new operational complexity.”

The company said the integration eliminates the need for multiple monitoring tools and parallel telemetry stacks by bringing together SNMP, NetFlow, and gNMI telemetry within the existing OpManager Nexus environment. Organizations can access real-time metrics, topology maps, alerts, and reporting dashboards without deploying additional infrastructure.

“gNMI and OpenConfig are increasingly becoming the preferred way to expose that data because they provide deeper visibility while placing less strain on network devices,” said Gowrisankar Chinnayan, Head of Product Management at ManageEngine. “With native integration in OpManager Nexus, customers can operationalize streaming telemetry within the platform they already trust, without adding new operational complexity.”

Among the key capabilities introduced are secure gNMI dial-in and dial-out telemetry with TLS encryption, OpenConfig YANG model support for consistent data structures across vendors, and sub-second telemetry collection that captures events traditional polling mechanisms often miss.

ManageEngine said the architecture also supports sustainability objectives by reducing the overhead associated with poll-heavy monitoring models. By adopting event-driven streaming telemetry, organizations can lower compute, storage, and network resource consumption while gaining deeper operational insights.

The company believes the latest enhancements position OpManager Nexus as a comprehensive observability platform capable of delivering scalable, secure, and real-time network intelligence for modern hybrid enterprise environments.
