Cybersecurity Enters Saudi Sports

Al Qadsiah Club and LogRhythm | Exabeam explore AI-powered security as Saudi Arabia’s sports sector becomes increasingly digital.

Saudi Arabia’s sports transformation is increasingly being powered by technology—but greater digitalisation is also creating a new cybersecurity challenge for clubs and sporting organisations.

Al Qadsiah Club has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Exabeam to explore cybersecurity technologies that can strengthen the Club’s digital resilience and protect its expanding technology ecosystem.

The collaboration reflects a wider shift in the sports industry. Modern clubs are no longer simply sporting organisations; they operate increasingly complex digital environments involving online platforms, fan engagement systems, operational technology, data-driven decision-making and cloud-based services.

Under the MoU, the two organisations will evaluate technologies designed to improve threat monitoring, detection and response across Al Qadsiah Club’s systems, platforms and digital services. The collaboration will also explore cloud-native and AI-powered cybersecurity capabilities.

“As the sports sector continues its rapid shift towards digital services and data-driven environments, cybersecurity has become essential to protecting operations, services and information,” said Sultan Al-Alanazi, Country Director for LogRhythm | Exabeam Saudi Arabia.

The timing is strategically significant. As Saudi Arabia accelerates investment in sports under Vision 2030, digital infrastructure will become increasingly central to the industry’s growth. With that expansion comes a larger attack surface—and potentially greater risks involving sensitive data, digital services and operational disruption.

The partnership also reflects the growing role of AI in modern cybersecurity. As organisations adopt AI-driven technologies and digital workers, security teams must increasingly understand and monitor the behaviour of both human and non-human identities.

For Saudi Arabia’s rapidly evolving sports ecosystem, cybersecurity is therefore becoming more than an IT requirement. It is emerging as a critical foundation for sustainable digital transformation.

The Al Qadsiah-LogRhythm | Exabeam collaboration signals that as Saudi sports becomes more technologically sophisticated, protecting the digital infrastructure behind the game will become just as important as building the infrastructure visible to fans.
