AVEVA to Spotlight Industrial Intelligence at AVEVA Day South Africa 2026

Jesus Hernandez, SVP EMEA, AVEVA

AVEVA, a global leader in industrial software, will host AVEVA Day South Africa 2026 on April 22 at the Johannesburg Marriott Hotel, Melrose Arch, bringing together industrial leaders, innovators and ecosystem partners to explore the future of data-driven operations across the continent.

“Africa is not a spectator in the AI revolution; its industries are the foundation on which the global AI infrastructure is being built,” “The shift now is from pilot projects to full-scale deployment, from data-rich environments to intelligence-led, predictive operations.”

Jesús Hernandez, Senior Vice President – EMEA, AVEVA.

Held under the theme “Accelerating Africa’s Industrial Future: Harnessing AI, Digital Twins and Data-Driven Operations for Sustainable Growth,” the one-day event will focus on how artificial intelligence, digital twins and connected data platforms are transforming Africa’s mining, chemicals, power and infrastructure sectors. Research indicates that AI-enabled operational intelligence can cut unplanned downtime by up to 30% and reduce energy intensity by 10–20%, positioning advanced adopters well ahead of their peers in productivity and sustainability.

The agenda opens with a welcome from Jesús Hernandez, followed by a strategic keynote from Hanno van Niekerk, Market Leader, Sub-Saharan Africa, AVEVA, on leveraging AI-powered industrial software to support the region’s energy transition. Industry sessions will include insights from Glenn Kerkhoff, Industry Principal MMM, on improving mining equipment reliability and efficiency, and a closing panel featuring Khaled Salah on turning operational data into the backbone of industrial resilience.

Attendees will also experience AVEVA’s Connected Industrial Ecosystem, showcasing partner-led solutions addressing local water, wastewater and infrastructure challenges through CONNECT, AVEVA’s cloud-native industrial intelligence platform.
