ASUS, in partnership with Intel and Bahwan Projects & Telecoms, has launched a state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence (AI) Lab at the Directorate-General of Education in Al Dhahirah Governorate, marking a major milestone in Oman’s efforts to accelerate AI adoption in education and research.

The initiative, the first AI-focused project from ASUS Education in the region, aligns with Oman Vision 2040, which aims to strengthen the country’s position as a leader in AI readiness and foster a knowledge-driven economy.

Designed to support students, educators, and researchers, the AI Lab features a range of AI-ready ASUS devices, including Chromebooks, AI PCs, all-in-one desktops, and high-performance systems for advanced research. Powered by the latest Intel® Core™ Ultra processors, the devices leverage integrated AI acceleration capabilities through CPU, GPU, and NPU technologies, enabling enhanced productivity, creativity, and AI-powered learning experiences.

“This AI Lab will empower students and educators to explore the limitless possibilities of artificial intelligence while supporting Oman Vision 2040 and the country’s National Program for Artificial Intelligence.” — Madeleine Hung, General Manager for East EMEA & META Commercial System BG, ASUS

The facility is also equipped with sustainable technology solutions that offer long battery life, strong connectivity, and reduced environmental impact, making them ideal for modern hybrid learning environments.

Dr. Faisal Al Busaidi, Director-General of the Directorate-General of Information Technology at Oman’s Ministry of Education, said the initiative supports the ministry’s strategy of incorporating AI into education and developing future-ready skills among students.

Industry leaders from ASUS, Intel, and Bahwan Projects & Telecoms highlighted the lab’s role in building AI capabilities and fostering innovation across the education sector. The project is expected to serve as a hub for AI learning, research, and talent development, equipping the next generation with the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly AI-driven digital economy.
