Vienna meeting reinforces commitment to international cooperation, development finance, and strategic global partnerships
The Arab Coordination Group (ACG), one of the world’s largest alliances of development finance institutions, has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing sustainable development and strengthening international partnerships during its 21st Meeting of Heads of Institutions held in Vienna, Austria.
Hosted at the headquarters of the OPEC Fund for International Development during its 50th anniversary year, the gathering brought together leaders of ACG member institutions to review progress, deepen cooperation, and align priorities for addressing evolving global development challenges.
The meeting highlighted the Group’s growing impact on global development financing. In 2025 alone, ACG member institutions collectively extended US$25.7 billion in funding across nearly 735 operations spanning more than 97 countries. The investments supported infrastructure development, economic growth, social advancement, and sustainability initiatives in emerging and developing economies.

Over the past five decades, the ACG has delivered more than US$331.5 billion in development financing through over 13,000 projects across more than 160 countries, making it one of the most influential development finance partnerships globally.
During the discussions, leaders emphasized the importance of strengthening institutional collaboration and enhancing the effectiveness of joint initiatives. The meeting served as a platform to exchange perspectives, reinforce strategic relationships, and ensure continued alignment around the Group’s shared mission of improving lives and fostering prosperity worldwide.
On the sidelines of the event, ACG leaders participated in high-level roundtable discussions with representatives from the Government of Barbados, the Climate Vulnerable Forum and V20 Finance Ministers, the African Development Bank, and CAF – Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean. These engagements underscored the Group’s commitment to fostering global cooperation and expanding development partnerships.
Established in 1975, the Arab Coordination Group comprises ten leading Arab development institutions and remains the world’s second-largest coalition of development finance organizations, playing a critical role in supporting sustainable growth and economic resilience across developing nations.
