As a company – how has Barracuda performed in 2022 in the MEA?

In August this year, KKR, a leading global investment firm, completed its acquisition of Barracuda from Thoma Bravo. This move has set us on track for our next phase of growth,

Our regional strategy mirrors this corporate mission. Today Barracuda has a dedicated presence in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Lebanon, Egypt, Turkey, South Africa, Nigeria, and Morocco. In 2022 we announced new data centre locations in UAE and South Africa to meet growing customer demand for our cloud backup and data protection services across the region.

What are the major cyber security opportunities you have participated while coming to solving challenges in the user market?

Barracuda was started with the mission of making robust email-security available to all businesses. Today, we are proud to provide enterprise-grade, cloud-ready email protection, network security, application security, and data protection services. We continue to expand our offering with innovations including Zero Trust Network Access, extended detection and response, incident response, and more, providing intelligent 24/7 protection for organisations of all sizes, their employees, data, and applications.

Throughout this evolution, we have stayed focused on ensuring our solutions offer comprehensive protection, while remaining simple and easy to use. In an era of escalating IT complexity, this helps ensure our solutions are utilised to their full potential, while also ensuring that security can be delivered without complicating or disrupting business processes.

How many net new customers have you added this year? Who are the major names?

Barracuda now helps to protect more than 225,000 customers around the world.

What are other milestones you have achieved this year?

One of the major milestones for Barracuda in the region this year was the launch of our UAE and South Africa data centre services, which enable us to meet the region’s growing demand for cloud data protection that complies with local regulations. Compared to traditional backup and recovery solutions, our cloud-first solution provides scale and resiliency, fast performance, and wide global coverage to protect Office 365 data born in the cloud.

What is your road map for 2023?

In 2023 we will continue to invest, innovate our product suite, and strengthen our cloud-first infrastructure to help more companies transition securely to the cloud. As digital transformation becomes embedded in more organisations and hybrid workforces become the norm, we will continue to enhance our technologies to meet the challenges of the ever-increasing attack surface and rapidly evolving threat landscape.
