Approval places the platform among just three Dubai companies authorised to issue asset-referenced virtual assets, strengthening the regulatory foundations for real-world asset tokenization.
PRYPCO Mint, MENA’s first real estate tokenization platform, has secured a Category 1 Virtual Asset Issuance Licence from Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), becoming one of only three companies in the emirate authorised to issue asset-referenced virtual assets (ARVAs).
The approval marks a significant regulatory milestone for Dubai’s real-world asset (RWA) tokenization ecosystem, as the emirate seeks to establish itself as a global centre for regulated digital assets. Dubai has set an ambition to reach AED 60 billion in tokenized real estate by 2033, reflecting the growing role of blockchain-based infrastructure in property investment and ownership.
PRYPCO Mint operates in strategic partnership with the Dubai Land Department (DLD). Since launching its tokenized real estate platform, it has attracted investors from more than 50 nationalities, indicating growing international interest in fractional and digitally enabled access to property assets.
The Category 1 licence authorises PRYPCO Mint to issue regulated asset-referenced virtual assets backed by real-world assets, including real estate. It provides the regulatory framework for the company to expand its tokenized investment offerings while operating within Dubai’s virtual asset compliance requirements.
For the wider market, the development highlights an important transition: tokenization is moving beyond experimentation towards regulated financial and ownership infrastructure. Regulatory clarity is likely to be critical in building confidence among investors, institutions and strategic partners, particularly as platforms seek to broaden participation in traditionally less accessible asset classes.
“This licence gives us the ability to build for the long term, expand access to high-quality real-world assets and help shape the future of regulated digital ownership from Dubai.”
— Amira Sajwani, Founder and CEO, PRYPCO
“This is a defining moment not only for PRYPCO Mint, but for the future of real-world asset tokenization in the region,” said Amira Sajwani, Founder and CEO of PRYPCO. She said the licence would support responsible scaling, encourage institutional participation and expand access to real-world assets through a framework centred on trust, transparency and compliance.
The approval also strengthens PRYPCO’s ambition to develop a broader real-world asset tokenization business across the Middle East and beyond. Its wider ecosystem includes PRYPCO Blocks for fractional property investment, PRYPCO Mortgage for digital home financing, and services covering real estate agents and Golden Visa applications.
As Dubai advances its digital asset strategy, the challenge for platforms such as PRYPCO Mint will be to translate regulatory authorisation into scalable products, sustained investor confidence and demonstrable real-world adoption. The new licence gives the company a stronger foundation to pursue that next phase.
