The availability of Qlik’s MCP Server through Claude Directory gives enterprises a more direct way to bring trusted business data, analytical logic and existing access controls into AI-assisted workflows.
Qlik has made its Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server available through Anthropic’s Claude Directory, enabling users to connect Claude with governed Qlik data, business metrics and selected analytics and data workflows.
The move addresses a growing enterprise AI challenge: ensuring that AI assistants can access reliable business context rather than relying on raw records or recreating analytical logic through prompts. As organisations introduce Claude into analyst, developer and decision-making workflows, Qlik aims to preserve the data governance, lineage and calculations that underpin business decisions.
Through the integration, Claude users can query governed data, examine data lineage and trust signals, and work with existing analytical expressions and scripts. The MCP Server also supports selected tasks such as searching applications, datasets and data products, asking questions in natural language, and creating dashboards, sheets and visualisations through prompts.
“Customers adopting Claude want more than an LLM hooked to raw records. They want Claude to work with governed business context, existing metrics, and data workflows with enterprise controls.” — Josh Good, VP, Corporate Strategy, Qlik
Qlik’s approach is designed to extend AI-assisted analytics without requiring organisations to abandon their existing data environments. Its analytics engine and governed data access provide a layer of business context that can help AI systems work with established metrics and analytical logic.
“Qlik brings that layer to Claude, helping customers get better answers, faster execution, and more confidence in how AI is being used across the business,” said Josh Good, VP, Corporate Strategy at Qlik.
Security and access management remain central to the integration. Qlik MCP uses OAuth-based authentication and existing Qlik Cloud permissions, allowing organisations to connect Claude to governed environments while retaining established access controls.
The Claude Directory listing builds on the general availability of Qlik’s MCP Server earlier in 2026. It also reflects Qlik’s wider strategy of making trusted data products, analytics capabilities and agentic experiences available within customers’ existing technology environments.
As enterprises move from AI experimentation towards operational deployment, integrations that preserve data governance and business context are becoming increasingly important. Qlik’s latest move seeks to make those capabilities more accessible to organisations using Claude, while maintaining their existing controls and reducing the need to rebuild business logic across separate tools.
