Vertiv and Cybastion Partner to Accelerate Digital Infrastructure Development in Africa

Vertiv

The collaboration targets data centre, AI and sovereign digital infrastructure opportunities across six African markets.

Vertiv has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with U.S. technology company Cybastion to expand collaboration on digital infrastructure opportunities across Northwest and West Africa, including Morocco, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Chad and Gabon.

The agreement aims to combine Vertiv’s expertise in critical digital infrastructure with Cybastion’s established relationships and experience in government-led digital transformation programmes. The partnership is expected to help Vertiv engage earlier in large-scale projects involving data centres, artificial intelligence and sovereign digital infrastructure.

“Our collaboration with Vertiv strengthens our ability to rapidly deploy the critical digital infrastructure needed to help African countries move toward digital sovereignty.”

— Dr. Thierry Wandji, CEO, Cybastion

Zineb Kamri, Regional Director for Northwest Africa at Vertiv, said the collaboration would enable the company to position its power, cooling and critical infrastructure solutions within broader national digitalisation programmes. She added that Morocco is a particularly important market, given its ambition to become a regional digital hub and attract hyperscale and AI infrastructure investments.

The partnership will establish a scalable framework for pursuing joint opportunities as demand for digital infrastructure grows across the region.

“As AI, cloud and sovereign digital infrastructure investments accelerate across Africa, customers are increasingly seeking end-to-end ecosystems rather than standalone technology providers.”

— Zineb Kamri, Regional Director for Northwest Africa, Vertiv

For Cybastion, the agreement strengthens its ability to support African countries seeking secure digital platforms and infrastructure to advance their digital transformation agendas.

The collaboration reflects growing interest in integrated infrastructure capabilities as governments and enterprises invest in AI, cloud and data centre capacity. By combining infrastructure expertise with regional relationships, the companies aim to support emerging projects and expand their presence across African markets.
