New 3,500-square-meter facility will add flow calibration, automation integration, training and spares capabilities as Emerson expands its Middle East and Africa footprint.
Emerson is expanding its industrial automation presence in Qatar with plans for a new Middle East & Africa Service Center at the Umm Alhoul Free Zone, strengthening its ability to support customers across the region.
The 3,500-square-meter facility is designed to bring critical automation services closer to industrial customers, including what Emerson says will be Qatar’s first certified in-country flow calibration laboratory. The move is significant for industries where measurement accuracy, equipment availability and service turnaround can directly affect operational continuity and project timelines.
The facility will combine flow-meter calibration for high-pressure and high-volume applications with measurement instrumentation solutions, skid training systems, spare-parts distribution, control-system staging and integration services. It will also include a training and experience centre for customer operations teams.

The centre is planned to become operational in phases. Control-system staging, measurement solutions services, spares inventory and the training centre are expected to open in December 2026, while the certified flow calibration laboratory is planned for early 2027.
Beyond customer service, the investment reflects the growing importance of local industrial capabilities as Gulf economies seek to strengthen in-country value creation and diversify beyond traditional energy activities. Emerson said the facility supports the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030 while adding to its existing manufacturing, service and distribution footprint across Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
For industrial organisations, the strategic value extends beyond equipment support. Local calibration, integration, training and spare-parts capabilities can reduce dependence on cross-border services, shorten maintenance cycles and help accelerate automation projects.
The Qatar investment therefore positions Emerson to support not only current industrial operations but also the region’s broader transition toward increasingly connected and automated production environments.
