Live video, access verification and integrated situational awareness turn the paging console into a broader security and communication tool.
Axis Communications has expanded the capabilities of its AXIS C6110 Network Paging Console with video support introduced through the AXIS OS 12.11 update. The enhancement combines network audio, two-way communication and live video, enabling operators to respond to incidents with greater situational awareness.
The update allows users to access live video directly from the AXIS C6110 interface, eliminating the need to switch between separate systems. Existing Axis cameras and intercoms can be connected natively, while support for third-party devices provides additional flexibility for organizations operating mixed technology environments.
One significant use case is entrance and access management. Operators can visually verify individuals requesting access before responding or unlocking a door, combining video with the console’s existing two-way audio capabilities. This can help organizations make faster and more informed decisions at critical points of entry.
The development also reflects a broader shift toward converged physical security and communication infrastructure. Rather than adding dedicated hardware for every function, organizations can increasingly extend existing network-based platforms to support multiple operational requirements.
“Video brings an entirely new dimension to how operators use network audio, enabling faster and more informed responses with visual context available directly from the paging console.”
For enterprises already invested in Axis network audio and video infrastructure, the new capability provides a way to increase the value of existing deployments while reducing operational complexity.
Key capabilities include live video access, visual verification for access management, compatibility with Axis and third-party devices, and improved situational awareness for operators.
Video support for the AXIS C6110 Network Paging Console is available with AXIS OS 12.11.
