OPSWAT, a global leader in cybersecurity for critical infrastructure protection (CIP), today announced the launch of OPSWAT Predictive Alin AI, its first proprietary AI-native threat detection engine for the MetaDefender™ Platform. The new engine introduces a predictive, pre-execution detection layer that identifies malicious intent before a file ever runs enabling faster action with near-zero false positives.
Predictive Alin AI represents a significant evolution of MetaDefender’s multi-engine architecture. Designed as a high-confidence decision layer, the engine works alongside existing prevention, multiscanning, and sandbox technologies to determine whether a file is likely to behave maliciously without relying solely on signatures or runtime detonation. This allows organizations operating in highly sensitive environments to respond immediately, without risking unnecessary disruption.
“We cut through the noise and eliminate the hesitation that costs organizations the most.”
— Benny Czarny, Founder & CEO, OPSWAT
“At OPSWAT, we’ve always believed that security starts with prevention and the assumption that every file is hostile,” said Benny Czarny, Founder and CEO of OPSWAT. “Predictive Alin AI wasn’t built to replace security teams it was built to make them more decisive. By delivering machine-learning verdicts in milliseconds, before execution, we give teams the clarity and confidence they need to act.”
Built using machine learning–driven static analysis, Predictive Alin AI evaluates file structure, entropy patterns, and semantic relationships to predict real-world behavior. It delivers sub-100-millisecond inference for most files, operates with a small memory footprint, and performs consistently across both connected and air-gapped environments.
In internal efficacy testing conducted across months of production traffic, Predictive Alin AI demonstrated 99.99% precision in identifying safe files, significantly reducing false positives. When uncertainty exists, MetaDefender automatically invokes additional workflows, reinforcing a defense-in-depth approach while preserving operational continuity. OPSWAT reports measurable gains in overall platform efficiency when the engine is deployed as part of multi-engine configurations.
“When it fires, customers can have a high degree of confidence in that verdict.”
— Yiyi Miao, Chief Product Officer, OPSWAT
“Raw detection rates don’t always translate to operational value,” said Yiyi Miao, Chief Product Officer at OPSWAT. “Precision was our primary objective. When Predictive Alin AI makes a call, enterprises can trust it.”
Developed entirely in-house and trained on curated, privacy-safe datasets from MetaDefender Aether telemetry, OPSWAT Threat Intelligence, and Unit 515 research, Predictive Alin AI is available today via MetaDefender Core™ for Windows and Linux and MetaDefender Cloud™, with strong relevance for government, defense, manufacturing, and energy sectors worldwide.
