Veeam Software announces strategic promotions to drive regional growth and customer success
Veeam Software has announced a series of leadership promotions and appointments across its EMEA East region, reinforcing its focus on regional expansion, technical leadership, and customer engagement across the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and Africa.
Strengthening Regional Sales Leadership
As part of the reshuffle, Jawad Moghnieh has been promoted to Regional Director for Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, in addition to his role as General Manager of Veeam’s Saudi entity. With over 17 years of experience, he has played a key role in expanding Veeam’s footprint and strengthening partner ecosystems across the region.
Meanwhile, Dan Popa steps into the role of Regional Director for Eastern Europe. Having spent more than nine years at Veeam, he will focus on accelerating growth, enhancing partner networks, and supporting customers in modernising their data resilience strategies.

Enhancing Technical and Pre-Sales Expertise
On the technical front, Islam Afifi has been elevated to Senior Regional Director, Sales Engineering for EMEA East. With over two decades of experience, he will continue driving technical alignment between customer needs and Veeam’s innovation roadmap.
Ahmad AlSabbah has been promoted to Regional Manager, Sales Engineering for Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, strengthening local technical leadership. Similarly, Mark Govender takes on the role of Regional Manager, Sales Engineering for Africa, further enhancing customer and partner engagement across the continent.
