Kaspersky Joins DCO as Observer, Strengthening Global Cyber Cooperation

Yuliya Shlychkova

Kaspersky has joined the Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) as an observer, marking a significant step in the global effort to build a safer, more sustainable digital future. With this move, Kaspersky becomes the first cybersecurity company to associate formally with the DCO, bringing nearly three decades of experience in combating cyberthreats to an organization dedicated to advancing inclusive and resilient digital economies.

Founded in 2020, the DCO is the world’s first independent international organization focused exclusively on the digital economy. It brings together 16 member states, alongside a growing network of observers and partners from leading global institutions, with the shared goal of harnessing digital technologies to drive social prosperity and economic growth. Kaspersky’s entry into this ecosystem reflects the rising importance of cybersecurity as a cornerstone of digital development.

The partnership was announced during the 5th DCO General Assembly held in Kuwait from February 4–5, underscoring the strategic relevance of cybersecurity discussions at the highest international level. As an observer, Kaspersky will contribute its deep technical and policy expertise to support the DCO’s mission of fostering safe digital environments and equitable access to technology across regions.

“International cooperation is the greatest enabler of digital resilience and prosperity.”

— Yuliya Shlychkova, Vice President of Global Public Affairs, Kaspersky

For nearly 30 years, Kaspersky has been protecting consumers, enterprises, and governments worldwide from a broad spectrum of cyberthreats. Through cooperation with the DCO and its members, the company aims to share practical knowledge on resisting cyber risks that can undermine digital progress, helping nations and organizations strengthen their digital resilience.

The DCO’s priorities including digital economic growth, innovation, prosperity, and the empowerment of women and youth closely align with Kaspersky’s long-standing mission to enable people to use technology safely and confidently. Together, the partners plan to advance cyber capacity building through knowledge-sharing platforms, awareness initiatives, and programs designed to elevate IT and cybersecurity skills among diverse audiences.

Empowering the next generation of secure digital users remains central to Kaspersky’s approach. Initiatives such as Expert Training, Kaspersky Academy, hands-on learning platforms like Kaspersky{CTF}, and the company’s Cyber Capacity Building program illustrate its commitment to developing practical, real-world cybersecurity skills.

Through its collaboration with the DCO, Kaspersky is positioning cybersecurity not just as a defensive necessity, but as a key enabler of inclusive, sustainable digital transformation worldwide.
