Appointment follows the company’s $4M seed round as Governata accelerates AI‑ready data governance infrastructure across Saudi Arabia.
Governata, Saudi Arabia’s first enterprise data governance and data‑management platform, has announced the appointment of serial entrepreneur Mohamed Hamedi as its Chief Technology Officer. The move strengthens the company’s leadership bench as it scales its enterprise‑grade, AI‑ready data infrastructure across the Kingdom and the wider MENA region.
Hamedi’s appointment comes on the heels of Governata’s $4 million seed round, backed by a strong coalition of regional and international investors including Joa Capital, abtal.vc, Sanabil Accelerator by 500 Global, Sadu Capital, Plus VC, Hyperscope Ventures, A‑Typical Ventures, and Plug and Play.
“The opportunity to build a category‑defining data governance platform from Saudi Arabia is incredibly compelling.” — Mohamed Hamedi, CTO, Governata
With more than 30 years of experience building and scaling technology companies globally, Hamedi has founded multiple high‑growth ventures and served in senior leadership roles across cloud platforms, fintech, enterprise software, and mobility. His track record includes co‑founding Grubtech, serving as CTO of Mrsool, and holding leadership roles at MEVP.
At Governata, Hamedi will oversee platform architecture, product innovation, and technology strategy, ensuring alignment with Saudi Arabia’s NDMO, PDPL, and Vision 2030 frameworks.
“Mohamed’s experience scaling complex platforms and leading world‑class engineering teams will be instrumental as we build the region’s reference data governance platform,” said Djamel Mohand, CEO of Governata.
With fresh capital and expanded leadership, Governata is now accelerating product development, enterprise deployments, and strategic partnerships across Saudi Arabia and the GCC.
