New senior appointments support Veeam’s mission to deliver the industry’s first Trusted Data Platform for Safe AI at Scale
Veeam Software, the global leader in data resilience, has announced three senior leadership appointments that will propel the company into its next phase of global innovation and customer-centric growth. Brandt Urban has been elevated to Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO), Tony Colon joins as Chief Customer Officer (CCO), and Michael Rau has been named Vice President of Worldwide Partners.
The appointments reflect Veeam’s strategic focus on strengthening capabilities across customer experience, partner ecosystems, and corporate development—areas that are essential as enterprises accelerate their adoption of Safe AI and require trusted, secure data foundations.

Brandt Urban, now Chief Business Development Officer, will oversee mergers and acquisitions, strategic partnerships, and corporate strategy. Previously serving as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Cloud Sales, Urban played a critical role in shaping Veeam’s cloud momentum. His new mandate is to drive high-impact alliances and targeted ventures that expand Veeam’s value proposition and fuel long‑term growth.
Tony Colon steps into the newly created role of Chief Customer Officer, where he will unify all customer-facing teams from onboarding to renewal into a seamless lifecycle experience. With decades of leadership at ServiceNow, Cisco, and Salesforce, Colon brings a proven track record of transforming customer success organizations into powerful engines of retention, satisfaction, and revenue expansion.
Michael Rau, appointed Vice President of Worldwide Partners, will guide Veeam’s global partner strategy across distribution, resell, SaaS, services, and strategic alliances. Backed by extensive experience at F5 and Cisco, Rau will work to enhance partner programs and unlock greater value from Veeam’s most significant relationships, including HPE, Lenovo, Pure Storage, CrowdStrike, Palo Alto, TCS, and Kyndryl.
