As Middle Eastern enterprises accelerate their digital transformation journeys under the frameworks of national AI and data strategies, Commvault has introduced two powerful innovations — Data Rooms and the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server — to redefine cyber resilience for the AI era.
Unveiled recently in Dubai, the announcement aligns strongly with the UAE’s National AI Strategy 2031 and the region’s growing emphasis on data sovereignty, governance, and intelligent automation. The new offerings enable organizations to move beyond traditional backup toward data activation, securely leveraging historical and secondary data to fuel artificial intelligence initiatives.

“The future of resilience lies in trusted AI—where data protection meets intelligent activation.”
— Pranay Ahlawat, Chief Technology and AI Officer, Commvault
At the core of the launch is Commvault Data Rooms, a secure, governed environment that connects enterprise data protection with AI-driven insight. It enables approved users to locate, classify, and export datasets within trusted parameters — effectively transforming backup data into an AI-ready intelligence layer. Built on zero-trust architecture, it ensures compliance and granular governance across hybrid and multicloud infrastructures.
“Enterprises in the Middle East are evolving fast, but resilience must evolve faster,” said Pranay Ahlawat, Chief Technology and AI Officer, Commvault. “With Commvault Data Rooms, we help organizations unlock the strategic potential of their data, responsibly and securely, to fuel innovation powered by AI.”

Complementing this is the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, which acts as a policy-governed bridge between Commvault Cloud and enterprise-grade AI assistants such as ChatGPT Enterprise and Anthropic Claude. It enables conversational, natural-language interactions with Commvault’s ecosystem — allowing users to check configurations, review alerts, or initiate recovery workflows with AI precision and transparency.
By empowering enterprises to activate their data safely, Commvault is helping regional organizations strengthen their AI readiness, operational resilience, and cyber trust — key pillars of sustainable digital transformation in the Middle East.
