A Major Leap in Next-Generation Connectivity
China Unicom has announced its 5G-Advanced Action Plan, aiming to bring next-generation connectivity to over 300 cities by the end of 2025. The plan includes the Xinghuo Program for industry applications and the Baichuan Program for AI-driven innovations. The company will also lead a device ecosystem alliance to foster industry collaboration.
Currently, China Unicom operates over 2 million 5G base stations, accounting for 40% of the world’s total, serving 290 million users.
At the 9th Asian Winter Games, China Unicom is deploying 10 Gbps 5G-Advanced networks to provide high-speed, stable connectivity for athletes, staff, and audiences. These networks enable multi-channel HD live streaming, on-demand video, and VR broadcasting.
Wang Limin, Deputy General Manager of China Unicom, emphasized:
“China Unicom will work with various partners to build up the 5G-Advanced industry ecosystem and contribute more to a digital China.”
Cao Ming, Vice President of Huawei Wireless Solutions, highlighted the integration of 5G-Advanced and AI, stating:
“Huawei and China Unicom will work and innovate together to support the development of 5G-Advanced and AI.”
