Strategic Riyadh facility to support Vision 2030, drive digital transformation, and enhance connectivity

As Saudi Arabia accelerates its digital transformation, Ezditek is making strides to support the Kingdom’s ambitions with the development of RUH01, a state-of-the-art data center in Riyadh. Expected to go live in Q1 2026, the facility will be located at Princess Nourah Bint Abdulrahman University (PNU)—the world’s largest female university—serving as a cornerstone for AI and cloud expansion in the region.

With a 35,000+ sqm footprint and a 24 MW capacity, RUH01 will provide hyperscalers, cloud providers, and enterprises with a scalable, low-latency solution to establish a stronger presence in Saudi Arabia. The facility’s direct access to major carriers will improve connectivity, reaching 90% of the country’s population within 25 milliseconds.

“Saudi Arabia is undergoing an unprecedented digital transformation, and Riyadh is at the heart of it. RUH01 is more than a data center—it’s a strategic hub that will fuel AI, cloud, and connectivity while advancing the Kingdom’s position as a global digital leader,” said Ibrahim Almulhim, CEO at Ezditek.

A Digital Hub at the Center of Vision 2030

Saudi Arabia is rapidly becoming a regional leader in AI and cloud technologies, aligning with its Vision 2030 goal of positioning the Kingdom as a global digital powerhouse. The launch of RUH01 will help businesses reduce reliance on imported digital infrastructure while advancing data sovereignty and network localization.

Meeting the Demand for AI and Cloud Expansion

As enterprises increasingly rely on AI-driven solutions, RUH01 is being designed to meet the growing compute and storage demands of businesses operating in the Kingdom. The facility will also host the Saudi Arabian Internet Exchange (SAIE), offering speeds of 100+ Gbps to enhance content delivery and minimize latency.

“At Ezditek, we are committed to building digital infrastructure that meets the evolving needs of the AI and cloud economy. RUH01 is designed to provide seamless, secure, and sustainable services that will enable businesses to scale efficiently while reinforcing Saudi Arabia’s role as a leader in the global digital space,” Almulhim added.

Powering the Future of AI in the Kingdom

Ezditek’s investment in RUH01 is part of its long-term strategy to establish Saudi Arabia as a leader in AI and digital innovation. The company recently announced a joint venture with Gcore to develop an AI Factory, which will enable enterprises to build, train, and deploy generative AI solutions locally and globally.

“RUH01 is just the beginning. Our goal is to develop a network of world-class data centers across the Kingdom, ensuring that businesses have the infrastructure they need to thrive in the AI era. With the right foundation in place, Saudi Arabia will be at the forefront of technological innovation,” said Almulhim.

As Saudi Arabia cements itself as a key player in the digital economy, RUH01 will play an integral role in ensuring that AI, cloud computing, and data services are secure, sustainable, and future-ready.
