MoU combines Riyadh Air’s global growth ambitions with Huawei’s cloud, AI, and mobility expertise to deliver seamless, data-driven passenger experiences, with China as a key focus market.
Riyadh Air and Huawei have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly advance digital innovation and redefine how passengers discover, book, and experience air travel with Saudi Arabia’s new national carrier. The partnership brings together Riyadh Air’s vision to become one of the world’s most digitally advanced airlines and Huawei’s deep capabilities across cloud, artificial intelligence, mobility services, and integrated digital ecosystems.
The collaboration builds on ongoing discussions between the two organizations around smart aviation and digital transformation. Through a structured, phased approach, Huawei will support Riyadh Air in developing a next-generation digital ecosystem designed to deliver seamless, personalized, and highly engaging travel experiences.
The initial phase of the partnership places strong emphasis on China and other priority international markets. With a significant share of smartphone users in China using Huawei devices, the collaboration enables Riyadh Air to tap into Huawei’s local reach and technology platforms to create market-specific digital journeys. These experiences will be tailored to China’s unique digital and social media landscape, ensuring data-driven personalization and intuitive engagement at every stage of travel.
As the partnership matures, the scope will expand into advanced areas such as digital marketing, loyalty platforms, cloud services, and AI-powered solutions. Together, Riyadh Air and Huawei aim to co-create future-focused innovations that enhance the end-to-end passenger journey and shape a new era of smart, connected aviation.
Highlighting the strategic importance of the collaboration, Vincent Coste, Chief Commercial Officer of Riyadh Air, said the Chinese market is central to the airline’s global expansion plans and to Saudi Arabia’s broader tourism ambitions. He noted that as the Kingdom targets 150 million tourists by 2030, the partnership with Huawei will strengthen Riyadh Air’s ability to deliver the seamless and personalized digital experiences that Chinese travelers increasingly expect. Coste added that Riyadh Air also aims to strengthen connectivity between Saudi Arabia and China, positioning the airline as a key bridge between the two markets.
From Huawei’s perspective, Peak Yin, CEO KSA, Huawei Consumer Business Group, described Riyadh Air as a digital-native and future-focused partner. He emphasized Huawei’s commitment to supporting the airline with its best global technologies to co-create world-class digital experiences for travelers from China and across the globe.
With plans to connect more than 100 destinations by 2030, Riyadh Air views strong digital partnerships as essential to its growth strategy. By aligning its global ambitions with Huawei’s technological expertise, the airline is poised to enhance connectivity, elevate passenger experiences, and help shape the future of digitally enabled air travel.
