Following the success of M360 MENA, GSMA announced that MWC Doha will be held in November 2025, marking a significant milestone in the telecom sector’s expansion in the Gulf region. This event is anticipated to drive digital transformation and foster collaboration among telecom operators, tech companies, and policymakers across the region.
Middle Eastern companies also showcased their commitment to sustainability and technological innovation. Ericsson, in collaboration with regional players like du, Zain, and Batelco, highlighted energy-efficient 5G solutions and sustainable network technologies.
These initiatives are part of a broader effort to reduce the carbon footprint of telecom infrastructure while enhancing network performance.
Huawei also made a significant impact at MWC 2025. Speaking at the Mobile AI Network Summit, Huawei’s Chief Strategic Architect, Dang Wenshuan, emphasized the importance of 5G-Advanced in unlocking new business value in the mobile AI era. He stated, “Networks are rapidly evolving to support 10 times faster uplink speeds and 10 dB better coverage with 10 times higher spectral efficiency, establishing a robust foundation for universal AI accessibility.”
James Chen, President of Huawei Carrier Business, introduced the “Five Ones” capability model designed to facilitate carriers’ transformation into techcos. He explained, “This comprehensive approach helps reshape business models, O&M practices, and infrastructure to enable carriers to seize transformation opportunities and continuously create value.”
