Magna AI, Zchwantech Forge USD 700M Collaboration to Advance Malaysia’s Sovereign AI Future

Magna AI, the global sovereign AI transformation leader formed through the partnership of Trend Micro and Wistron with strategic collaboration from NVIDIA, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Malaysia’s Zchwantech Group. The agreement outlines a USD 700 million strategic collaboration to build sovereign AI capabilities for Malaysia, anchored by a 20MW AI Datacenter planned in Sarawak.

The partnership will establish a sovereign AI factory framework integrating data pipelines, model pipelines, AI operations, and high‑performance computing to power enterprise and national‑scale workloads. It will also support the development of advanced AI applications aligned with Malaysia’s priority sectors, incorporating automation, predictive intelligence, and domain‑specific AI models.

In addition to boosting innovation, the collaboration aims to address Malaysia’s growing need for secure national AI infrastructure. This includes the joint development of datacenters capable of supporting the country’s digital transformation mandates.

“By uniting cybersecurity with advanced AI, this collaboration equips organisations with proactive, adaptive solutions that protect critical systems while enabling innovation,” said Yang Mulia Tengku Dato’ Setia Putra, Chairman of Zchwantech Cybersecurity.

Dr. Moataz BinAli, CEO of Magna AI, said the partnership positions Malaysia to lead the region in sovereign AI development, while leaders from Zchwantech and WiAdvance emphasized the importance of embedding security and trust into AI adoption.

The MoU was witnessed by Malaysia’s Minister of Communications, underscoring strong national alignment with the country’s digital priorities.
