Infoblox Completes Axur Acquisition to Strengthen Preemptive Security Capabilities

Infoblox

Infoblox has completed its acquisition of Axur, expanding its capabilities in digital risk protection and external threat intelligence as organisations face a growing wave of threats beyond traditional network perimeters.

The acquisition marks a strategic move to enhance Infoblox’s preemptive security approach, enabling enterprises to detect, disrupt, and block threats earlier in the attack lifecycle. By integrating Axur’s AI-powered external threat discovery with Infoblox’s DNS-based security, the combined offering aims to provide deeper visibility into threats emerging across web, social media, mobile applications, and the dark web.

“Infoblox is extending its leadership in preemptive security by expanding its ability to take down malicious infrastructure before it can be weaponized,” said Scott Harrell, President and CEO, Infoblox.

A key outcome of the integration is the launch of Digital Risk Protection Services (DRPS), which scans more than 40 million URLs daily to identify risks such as phishing, brand abuse, executive impersonation, and credential exposure. The platform not only detects threats but also validates real attacks and automates takedowns of malicious infrastructure at scale.

Infoblox will also integrate DRPS insights with its Threat Defense platform, enabling organisations to block malicious destinations in real time while takedown processes are underway. This capability allows security teams to quickly identify internal assets interacting with threats and take immediate action to mitigate risk.

“Together, we can connect external signals with DNS-level insight to give customers clearer visibility,” said Renée Burton, Vice President of Threat Intelligence, Infoblox.

The acquisition further lays the groundwork for Infoblox Exposure Management, a broader initiative aimed at delivering continuous threat exposure management across an organisation’s entire attack surface. This approach is designed to move beyond periodic assessments toward ongoing, measurable risk reduction.

“Becoming part of Infoblox allows us to scale our mission globally and deliver a more proactive approach to security,” said Fabio Ramos, Chief Executive Officer, Axur.

By combining Axur’s expertise in external threat intelligence with Infoblox’s strength in DNS-level detection and disruption, the company aims to provide richer context into emerging threats and improve attribution capabilities. This is particularly critical as attackers increasingly leverage AI to scale phishing, impersonation, and fraud campaigns globally.

Infoblox plans to gradually integrate Axur’s capabilities into its portfolio, with further updates expected as the integration progresses, reinforcing its position in the evolving cybersecurity landscape.
